Dear Ana

Dear Ana,
How are you doing? How have you been?
It's been a while since I let you in.
I'm sorry I ignored you, I shut you out,
but you were right, I can't live without
you.
Will you forgive me and take me back into your arms?
Teach me to be just like you, all perfection and charms.
Tell me your secrets, show me your tricks;
how do you keep food from passing between those lovely lips?
Ana, I've missed you, it's so good to have you home.
Stay with me, I promise this time I won't go.
This time I'll be strong, I'll be beautiful like you.
This time I won't get scared, I want to be pretty, too.

Ana, I promise, I won't disappoint.
I'll be the strongest of them all.
Ana, I'm ready, I've come to that point.
I'm ready to take that step, I'm not afraid to fall.

Autumn breezes are sneaking in with the summer wind.
It's almost time for the world to get cold again.
Darkness is coming, lingering longer each day.
It's time to let it take me away.
Ana, I'm flying on your wings,
listening to your every whisper, always perfecting
me.
It feels so good to have you back,
like being found after wandering in black.
You tell me what to do, tell me what to say;
on the road to perfection, you show me the way.

Ana, I promise, I won't disappoint.
I'll be the strongest of them all.
Ana, I'm ready, I've reached that point
where down is up and the only fall
is into the sky
where wings of bone will make me fly.
Over firey trees, light like a bird;
I'll be clean and perfect, with not a speck of dirt
to stain my porcelain skin.
No, I'll be beautiful outside and in.

Ana, I promise, I won't disappoint.
I'll be the strongest of them all.
Ana, I'm ready, I've reached that point.
I'm not scared, I'm ready to fall.
